Hello everyone! My name is Gabriel Parker. I am a student at Oklahoma State University, studying creative writing (am I a cliché yet?).

Long story short, I’ve been reading forever. I was very young when I first discovered my passion for a story well told. I enjoyed Hardy Boys, Geronimo Stilton, and Encyclopedia Brown. Every time I finished a book, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next one. Soon, I began to develop an interest in specific types of writing as I grew older.

In high school, while others were reading Twilight (insert eye roll here) I was deep in oceans on the Pequod next to Captain Ahab, obsessed with the white whale. I found myself next to Douglas Spaulding in the hot summer of 1928 in small town in Illinois counting the days of summer. I made my way through the political rise and downfall of Willie Stark. You get the picture- and hopefully my hints at some of my favorite pieces of literature- where I draw my passion for creating unique stories.

I can’t remember when I first began writing. I just know I picked up a pencil one day and jotted a thought down and stuck it back in my pocket. Out of sight, out of mind. Soon, the jotting of thoughts down on paper became worlds, stories, and characters unfolding in my mind. And my writing career was born.

I’ve dabbled in several areas of writing- letters to editors, essays covering numerous topics, short stories, poems, and even novels of various genres. It wasn’t until college that I was able to hone in my writing, what I wanted to say, what I wanted to create for you. My readers. And with that…

Welcome to my website! I’ve posted some old unpublished stories and I’ll be keeping a tab up to date on all my new publications. I hope you enjoy my writing.

Under works I will be posting pieces I have created and am not seeking publication on. These are for you to read, think about, and hopefully enjoy.

Under publications I will be posting the links to various journals that my work appears in.

And with that I ask one thing from you- please join me in my writing career by subscribing to this website. You will receive notifications when I publish my pieces here or in a journal.

Thank you all!
